The administration of the facility was with the Ceylon Tobacco Company. With the switchover, it is expected to increase the production of Thriposha.
At present, 15,000 packets of Thriposha are manufactured per month for about 450,000 expectant mothers and children.
For its manufacture, 10,000 tons of maize and 8,000 tons of soya beans are used. The government spends Rs. 1,250 million for the manufacture of Thriposha.
